Out reach with Food!!...
Hi Pastor David Park,
I am the Outreach Facilitator at More In My Basket which is a program housed at North Carolina Cooperative Extension. Our program helps families who need assistance with completing an application for the Food and Nutrition Services/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as Food Stamps). We provide screenings for families to determine if they are eligible for food stamps and if they are determined to be eligible we will complete and application with them over the phone and then mail it to them. Once they receive it in the mail they have to either mail, fax, or hand deliver the application to their local Department of Social Services at the address that I have included in the packet that I mail to them.
We are trying to reach more families that we aren't able to locate in other types of settings. I was wondering if there is anyway a short description about our program could be included in your bulletin for the next couple weeks or if you possibly have a newsletter that it could be included in. Here is the description we would like included:
"If you would like assistance with completing the application for Food and Nutrition Services (NC's name for the food stamps program) then give More In My Basket a call! They have a toll free number 855-240-1451 that will reach a live person Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They can also assist with determining if your family is eligible to receive food stamps and can help answer questions you have about the program."
Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks,
Amy
